Bad news on hold

Apparently Midnight was moved to the RIP folder too soon.

However, he's got to be tagged by 2:00 today...which is just a minute away. I'll keep an eye on his situation.

The good and the bad....

The good news...

Ollie's "Adopt Me Mojo" helped get kitty Sky out of the shelter in Carrollton. YEAH!!!

The bad news...

But it wasn't enough to get Midnight out of the shelter in Arlington. RIP, beautiful Midnight.

Shelter Cat Saturday, June 23, 2012

Wowser....look at today's Shelter Cat pick. This beautiful boy is at the shelter in Arlington, and he REALLY needs to be in your home...today!

This is what a volunteer on the Friends of Arlington Facebook page has to say:

Midnight is very outgoing and has a wonderful personality, very sweet! Likes to show off to the volunteers and customers. Please don't let him being a black cat deter you away from adopting him, black cats are awesome and midnight is an exceptional cat because of his awesome personality! Come meet him today and see for yourself!

(And Ollie says "YEAH....Black cats are AWESOME!!")

Shelter Cat Sat...errr....Wednesday! Inaugural Edition

Ollie was pestering me about this lovely girl in Carrollton last night. She was on a Code Red list for yesterday, but it looks like she's got a bit more time.

So that gives Ollie the opportunity to harass you people and tell you that SOMEONE really needs to go adopt the lovely Miss Sky from the shelter in Carrollton. She's far too lovely to languish in a shelter...or worse!!

Miss Sky needs a rescue!!!!!!!!

Shelter Cat Saturday, June 16, 2012

I can tell you right now, Kisses description REALLY appeals to me....she won't steal the TV remote. That means one less person to fend off!

Kisses is down in Georgetown...make a drive. Ollie thinks Kisses is very pretty...and he really likes her name!

Gone Fishin'

Meowmy said I should come in here and let folks know that I'm going fishing for awhile, so the blog is mostly on vacation with me.

Since there are so SOOOOOOOOO many shelter cats, that Shelter Cat Saturday feature is stayin'. I told her I didn't care HOW much time she was spending on rescue THIS needed to stay...plus, it's rescue, too!

So maybe I'll be blogging again in a few months. Time off may be just what I need.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Ollie is right. I've gotten very involved networking rescue animals and trying to get Animals First Foundation of Texas organized and purposed, and the blog is suffering because of it.

He's also right that Shelter Cat Saturday is rescue oriented and that should stay open. So SCS will be here, and it may be there will be another day added to that feature, too. The requirements will stay the same...black or mostly black cats (including torties) will be featured.

And hopefully after this summer, I can spend time typing stuff up for Ollie. And maybe by then he'll have gotten over his dislike of the flashy thing. :)

Shelter Cat Saturday, June 9, 2012

OIlie and I are taking a little road trip today for his Shelter Cat Saturday feature. Going up to Seagoville where the good folks at the shelter have a cat room FULL of kittens. So many kittens, in fact, that they're waiving the adoption fee on the little darlings through the month of June.

This little doll baby is one of them. Looks like her stray hold won't be up for a couple of days, but she looks like a pistol. Ollie and I bet Miss Bella Donna has a heapin' helpin' of tortitude.

Everyone needs some spice in their life. This little doll would probably fit the bill nicely!

Tuesday's Artful Cats, June 5, 2019

I was looking at at my patio today, and it's decidedly plain and boring. I really need some decorations out there. But I want something that MOVES...so I thought about spinner thingies...cat spinner thingies. So that's today's Artful Cats...wind spinners and whirligigs.

Shelter Cat Saturday, June 2, 2012

Going up to the shelter in Wylie, outside Dallas, for today's Shelter Cat Saturday.

This handsome fellow doesn't have a name that I could find, but he is a good looking boy who I've read is really sweet and affectionate. What more could you want? Ollie said that HE is sweet and affectionate and so my world should be complete.

Don't you think your world could stand a little completion?

(Wylie's Petfinder listings no long work, but you can find them on Facebook under Friends of Wylie Animal Shelter.)
