Big black dogs. FIV+ cats. Senior pets. Special-needs animals.
Many factors can make a pet seem "less adoptable." To promote these unusual (or, in some cases, too common) animals, Petfinder has designated Sept. 17-25, 2011, as "Adopt-A-Less-Adoptable-Pet Week."
Sometimes we think that people just need to close their eyes, and open their hearts. Then more of these "less adoptable" animals would surely fund their forever homes.
ReplyDeleteYou are SO right!
ReplyDeleteRandall and I have made a commitment to fostering only seniors (and hoping on having one special needs senior as much of the time as we can). Aggie, our new little deaf foster dog, is our current special needs foster, and you couldn't ask for a sweeter girl. She dosen't deserve the ending she was scheduled to have.
