Foster Bro is cooling down...
That means foster meowmy should have more time for me, Howdy and the PC.
Apparently Elvis was really committed to his love of Haley, which meant meowmy didn't get to sleep much. But last night, she said, was much better. She said if tonight is good, too, I might get more time at the PC. Course, she also says her back is broken, and I don't think that's too good.
She also mentioned the camera...apparently I need more pictures taken.

I am sending 2 - use whichever -these are my 2 faves. In the one you can see the fabulous extra toe on my front paw and the other, well mom tells me it shows off my handsome face so well. As you can see I am mostly black though I do have a white spot on my chest and a tuft of white fur between the pads on each of my feet.
To introduce myself, my name is Milo and I live in Washington, D.C. and i am 14. My human's name is Ellen and she (thinks) she rescued me but it was actually the other way around. She took me to live in a house with lots of windows so that I can watch the birds- except I don't really like the Mockingbirds 'cause they taunt me. I love anything dairy and Pounce treats and I reward the giving of both by purring really loud which makes mom happy.

Slow news week
She did say there will be a post for Black Cat Friday, but I might not be able to type much until after the weekend. She keeps saying I need s-u-p-e-r-v-i-s-i-o-n at the keyboard. **snif** I don't, but you can't convince HER of that.

I'm not trying to take your place, Howdy...
Foster meowmy said Howdy is feeling a bit insecure because of ME. Howdy has been sort of pouty the last few days. And yesterday she stayed in the front room all day. Last night she finally went in to the living room and laid on the sofa.
Meowmy went in and spent some time cuddling and petting her and ignoring ME. I told her I didn't like that, but she said she didn't care. She said Howdy needed some "mom time."
**sigh**
I guess she was right because Howdy has been out a lot today. She seems a lot more normal.

Hi, Ollie! My name is Ramey and I'm a Devon Rex. I don't remember much about my past life, but a couple of years ago, I found myself lost, alone and homeless. I took refuge in the crawl space of a home, and the lady there took me in her house and took good care of me. We still live together, and I'm pretty happy, except she won't let me go outside and play like I love to do, but she got me a friend to play with! Wasn't that nice? Her name is Dolly, but she's just a kid and gets too rambunctious sometimes. Mostly she's ok, though.
I'm still trying to learn when it's time to get her up and when it's too early.
Oh, my family lives in Columbus, Ohio, and my lady's name is Kenda Kaiser. She's really nice, but I have to remind her to clean my box sometimes. I'm glad she listens to me when I tell her things. She speaks 'cat'!!
Ollie, hope you pick me for one of your black cat Friday's, because I'd like for everyone to know that even though there are some mean people out there to watch out for, there are also some very nice people that want to help us when we're in trouble.
Bye!!

Happy Fosterversary, Bro!
I'm happy, too, cuz she's told me what a hard life Elvis had before being rescued. I didn't have ANYthing like that...I just didn't like the time I was in the shelter, but that is NOTHING compared to what Elvis went through.
So HAPPY FOSTERVERSARY, ELVIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not so hungry anymore...
Foster meowmy has decided to try something she calls "measured free feeding." I'm not 100% sure what that means, but from what I can tell, she scoops out some food in the morning into my bowl and Howdy's and leaves it down.
She had said she was worried about Howdy being a PIG, but a funny thing happened when the food was down all day yesterday...Howdy turned out not to care. Hmph....meowmy should have listened to me in the beginning. I KNEW Howdy would figure this out and not eat every piece all at once...but did meowmy listen? Nnnnnnnnnoooooooooooooooooo...
I think she's listening now. At least she said she's willing to try this for a few days. So now the food is down ALL DAY LONG. And I'm no longer a starving foster cat. I can go in and eat a few pieces whenever I want.
Kitties Rescued by US Marine Soldiers in Afghanistan
In Afghanistan, in the midst of war, many animals are lost and separated from their family. Many are found later by troops from the US, UK and Canada. Soldiers rescue these animals and get help from rescue groups that help them send these animals out of the country and to a forever loving home that they deserve.

Ollie is safe from being traded in :)
This is good because yesterday morning I was seriously doubting the wisdom in bringing in a foster cat in general...and a really vocal one specifically. Overall, though, he was pretty quiet and only woke me up once when he got hungry. That's a huge improvement over the night before. And the foil on the cat shelf worked, so his wings were pretty much clipped. A Flying Ollie at 2 am is not a sight to behold nor a feeling I care to experience again.
Howdy, however, was seriously put out. She's realizing that Ollie intends to sleep next to me whether that means he lays on top of her or not. Last night she went immediately to my pillow and spent most of the night there. I know she was under the covers at one point, but another time I saw her laying in the rocker.
So she's not happy, but she copes. She seems to realize she's still Mom's Heart Cat, regardless of where she sleeps. And Ollie? Well, he's just still really thrilled that he's in a home and not at the shelter, so things are good for him (well, except the food situation, but he'll learn).
I'm not sure whether Ollie will have a chance to blog tomorrow or not. Depends on how things go around here. But regardless, there will DEFINITELY be a posting for the Black Cat Friday. I'm getting a lot of interest and quite a few photos, and I really hope this will bring steady interest in Ollie's blog...if only because he and I can only be so creative for so long. :)

I'm in the dog house
Foster meowmy had to sleep with me and Howdy last night (and again tonight), but she didn't like me walking on her and jumping on her from the dresser. She yelled REALLY loud when I knocked her water glass over this morning.
Howdy's mad at me, too. I can't help it I want to sleep extra close to my human and that means laying on top of Howdy. And I TOLD her I was sorry I jumped on her...she was under the cover and I didn't see her. She growled at me all night, and wouldn't move.
Meowmy taped some sort of shiny, crinkly stuff on the cat shelf. She said most cats don't like foil, but I'm not sure what she means. I'll check it out later when she's not looking. I think it's supposed to keep me from vaulting over the headboard from the shelf. Hmpf.
She told me that if I'm as bad tonight as I was last night, she's going to put me in the bathroom.
I don't mean to be bad. Really. I purred and purred and purred last night, but that didn't help. Talking about it didn't seem to either. Meowmy said I need to BE QUIET...not sure if I can do that, but I think I'd better try.
Daddy said if meowmy has another night like last night they might take me back to the "Cat Trade-In Place." I don't know what that is, but it sounds really bad. Meowmy was laughing when he said that, but I think maybe I need to have better manners tonight.

H-U-N-G-R-Y....S-T-A-R-V-I-N-G
I'm used to having a full food bowl and going to it whenever I'm hungry and munching some kibble.
I'm not able to do that here.
Howdy is a P-I-G and foster meowmy rations her feedings. Because of that, MY feeding is scheduled and I'm STARVING. I ate so fast this morning when I got fed and I threw my food back up.
**sniff**
So now I'm even MORE hungry.
Foster meowmy said she's going to "dole out my food" now. I'm not sure what that means, but I'm pretty sure it's not good.

Sound Identification
This afternoon while waiting to be fed, he sounded for all the world like a cricket.
I thought Howdy with her chirps and burbles made interesting sounds. She is NOTHING compared to Ollie. He's got the most incredible vocal range I've ever heard in a cat/
Oh. And for those wondering. Last night in the cat room...interesting.
Like I thought, Ollie wants to sleep in Howdy's place. That prompted some of the most serious fight sounds I've heard from her in awhile. I got her settled down next to my pillow, but she wasn't happy about it. If she didn't insist in sleeping under the cover, I'd have her in her usual place and Ollie would have to find a new location. Unfortunately, she dives under the covers and then Ollie steps on her. I might be able to work something else out if I'm in there for more than one night, but last night that was just the easiest way to deal with it.
Also, Ollie gets hungry about 4 am, and since the Foodlady is in there, he talks about it. Didn't do him any good, but he bitched nevertheless.
Those were really the only two problems I discovered last night. The first (competing with Howdy for room) is something that I can probably work around, though Howdy may make it tough because she is very aware of her place in the pecking order. The second, well, as Ollie gets switched to a more strict feeding schedule, I suspect he'll be a bit less strident about wanting a middle of the night feeding.
